Unstaged

This living/dining area seemed cold and not conducive to casual conversation. The dining area was bland and the arm chair in the corner is out of place.

Staged

Simply by bringing in an area rug, and moving the arm chairs closer to the center of the room, we’ve created a warmer friendlier feeling. The couch now has matching lamps at each end and we put an extra table and lamp between the arm chairs. To sell a house, it is often wise to move kiddie furniture out. We also removed an oddly placed chair from the dining room and replaced it with a large plant which we brought in from the kitchen. A bright pot of mums for the dining room table adds some life to that part of the room as well.
